Press Release. 23/07/07
Rutland Multi Access Regatta.
Three Artemis 20 Keelboats entered the first Multi class access regatta held at Rutland water organised by RYA Sailability with impressive results.
For the first time the boats came head to head with the Paralympic chosen boat, the SKUD 18 and proved a much quicker boat in the lighter airs with the advantage levelling out once the winds increased.
The team of sailors racing the boats did a fantastic job considering they only managed about an hour sailing the boat before racing commenced but got to grips with it very quickly.
The weekend produced every type of weather condition from strong winds to no wind, lots of rain and even some sunshine and the organisers did a fantastic job of ensuring racing commenced whenever possible.
It is fair to say the Artemis 20 was the talk of the regatta with its striking looks and performance with the huge asymmetric spinnakers standing out across the whole of Rutland water.
With excellent results and extremely positive feedback from those lucky enough to get into the boat has seen many sailors eager to see the boat at future events and develop its reputation yet further.
Their enthusiasm for the boat once they were back shore side is enhancing its reputation as THE two man boat to sail offering stability with performance whilst also helping push the sailors skills further than ever before.
Look out for the Artemis 20’s at Skandia Cowes week try a boat but book early if you want to get a sail.
